Faith Christian Assembly

The most gracious words in any language are “thank you.” Humans are the only creatures on Earth who can articulate a sense of appreciation with spoken words. Therefore, believers must give thanks to the Lord because almighty God commands them to do so in Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

When people give thanks and praise to God, it can lessen the troubles and afflictions of life. By choosing to dwell on those things he or she is thankful for, a person’s focus can shift from self to all God has done for them. A gloomy mind makes all things around more gloomy; an unthankful mind is an unhappy mind; a murmuring, complaining, dissatisfied mind makes one despondent and all around him miserable.

To give thanks to God is such a small return for the great benefits that he richly gives to people; yet he commands it so believers must not neglect it. If it is natural to thank people who simply open a door for another person, how much more should people bless the Lord for his countless benefits?

1 Chronicles 16:34 says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.”

Those who are in need of prayer can stay after service to connect with one of the church’s prayer partners who love to pray for people.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. The Bible Study is on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. A men’s and women’s group meets once a month. To receive a free newsletter, or for more information on the church, call 562-598-9010, email contact@fcachurch.net or visit www. fcachurch.net.
