‘Dink, Dine and Drink’ ups the fun

PICKLEBALL CLUB

Why has the Leisure World Pickleball Club attracted over 190 members? Perhaps it’s because they have so much fun and get together to socialize. Every Friday, about 4 p.m., players arrive at the courts behind Clubhouse 2. They have more than their paddles in their hands; they are bringing some sort of food or beverage to the weekly Dink, Dine and Drink event.

Players begin some earnest play at about 4:15 and then about 6 they take a break to dine at the potluck and enjoy the conversation. After dinner, some return to the courts while others just linger, enjoying the pleasant company and evening air. New players are welcome to join in and learn a bit about the game. Play is limited to Leisure World residents. Dink, Dine, and Drink is open to guests. The courts are open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
