Shuffleboard Club’s turkey shoot is on calendar

The Shuffleboard Club will hold its annual Turkey Shoot Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the courts building from 3-6 p.m. Each of the six lanes will have different games, with different challenges. Sign-up sheets are still available. It is always a popular event. Friday, Oct. 31, is the last Friday of the month and the club always hosts a lunch, which will be held at Hof’s Hut in Seal Beach at noon. Since it will be Halloween, members are encouraged to wear costumes to lunch.

Open play continues to be held every Monday morning at 9 a.m., giving members a chance to play a few more games before their weekly league games. The Thursday morning practice sessions come to an end this month. A special shoutout to Sue Burkschab and Rod Osgood for offering pointers to both new and experienced players to improve their skills. This dynamic duo have patiently helped many members this fall to hone their skills and refine their play.

Tuesday, Oct. 14 results:

Team Sally beat Team Bob 8-4. Team Sue outdid Team Harold 7-5. All-game winners were Roger Bennett, Sandy Bush, Anne Calvo, Sally Fowler, Sue Gary, Lynne Haines, Sal LaScala, Linda Peters and Bob Peterson.

Thursday, Oct. 16 results:

Team Lynne shellacked Team Karen 9-3 and Team Jack was victorious over Team Micki 9-3. All-game winners included Lynn Baidack, Kathryn Ewell, Hoan Lekhac, Karen Mendon, Doris Morton, Jack O’Brien and Ellie West.

Friday, Oct. 17 results:

Team Rod and Team Shel evened the score 6-6. Team Patti overtook Team Carol 8-4. All-game winners were Roger Bennett, Enrique Garcia, Milly Larsen, Sal LaScala, Connie Terry and Ellie West.
