Laguna Woods charity president to speak

LW CARES FUND

Marcy Sheinwold, J.D., president of the Foundation of Laguna Woods Village will speak at the Leisure World Cares Fund’s meeting on Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9.

The Foundation of Laguna Woods Village is the village’s charity for the past 27 years that acts as a safety net to help residents who are experiencing financial issues. The financial help provided by the foundation can take many forms including paying a high electrical bill, a caregiver bill, or hearing aid repair.

Sheinwold is a retired attorney who was a partner in a New York law firm and law school instructor. She will share how the foundation has helped improve the living condition of the most vulnerable residents in Laguna Woods Village for three decades.

The financially vulnerable resident population being served in Laguna Woods Village by the foundation is similar to the LW Cares Fund in Leisure World. In Leisure World, the fund aims to provide an HOA fee subsidy to those residents in need.
