Community Church
Community Church’s Veterans Day “Sock It to ‘Em” sock drive has started. Bring new packages of men’s and women’s white athletic socks to a Sunday worship service or to the church office during the week. People can also provide a cash or check offering toward the purchase of socks. They will be given to the Veterans Administration for distribution on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
“A Course in Miracles,” facilitated by Abby Stevens, is a free weekly discussion of the book of the same name, continues Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. For more information on “A Course in Miracles” visit www.acim.org.
Those who have lost a loved one are invited to attend Community Church’s Sunday service on Nov. 2 for All Saint’s Sunday. This day is the last Sunday of the Christian year and a time when believers remember those who have finished their life on earth. The church will read the names of those who have passed, as well as those who have moved away from the community. Those who want to memorialize a loved one that they have lost can reach out to Dave Albulario in the church office at 562-431-2503.
The church will continue to look at the teachings of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke on Sunday, Nov. 1. People are welcome to join Community Church’s Coffee with the Pastor on Thursdays. The next Coffee with the Pastor will be held today, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. This is a great low-key opportunity to meet Pastor Dodge and some of the members of the church before attending a service. All are welcome who are welcoming to all.
Community Church meets for worship every Sunday at 9:50 a.m. at 14000 Church Place near the St. Andrews Gate.
