Become an expert on the Orange County transportation system

Residents are invited to attend a bus information session on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby that will cover a variety of transportation options including taxi services, hospital/doctor appointment shuttles, and public buses. People are encouraged to arrive early, as space is limited.

Freedom of movement plays a crucial role in maintaining independence and remaining connected to the world. Getting familiar with local transportation options makes it easier for people who have lost their ability to drive get to medical appointments, pick up groceries, take advantage of free support services, and explore the surrounding area. The session will cover topics such as Leisure World’s internal on-call bus system, how to get to grocery stores/markets, transportation to the Seal Beach Senior Center, Seal Beach’s Dial-A-Ride taxi service (a city representative will be onsite to help people sign up for the program), low cost senior bus services in Orange County such as Abrazar Inc., and round trip transportation to nearby hospitals (such as Kaiser Permanente medical offices in Sand Canyon, UCI Health as well as low cost trips to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, the Long Beach VA, and more). Live closed captions will be available for those that are hearing impaired.
