LW Pool Club

The Leisure World Pool Club reached the halfway point of the fall season this past week and there were clear leaders in both the American (Monday) and National (Wednesday) leagues.

The Burners, with John Burns, Frank Sablan and Jennifer Spindler, led the American League with 38 wins. The Snow Brothers trio of Gary Snow, Ray Friedrichsen and Guta Basner were in second place with 35 wins. In the National League, R U Chalking to Me (Steve Edrich, Phouc Tran, Brian Tivnan) had a club leading 40 wins and held a two game lead over Raising Cane (Paul Shellenberger, Ron Kennedy, Milly Larsen) who are just two games off the pace.

The straight pool league moved into its 14th week of play with Dave Silva in first place with a 12-1 record. Rusty Aquino and Steve Edrich were tied for second with a 10-2 record. Key scores recently were Gary Snow, 30; Millie Larson, 15; John Barth, 30; Connie Terry, 22; Connie Adkins, 30; Ron Kennedy, 18; Aquino, 30; Bruce Pettys, 16.
