First Christian Church
First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.
Pastor’s Message
Putting ones hope and trust in something seen is quite easy and doesn’t take much faith. But putting one’s hope and trust in the unseen takes a deep faith in God and his faithfulness to his word. In Romans 8:19-23, Paul explains how God’s creation, as described in Genesis 1, groans and labors as it eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God and the redemption that comes with it.
Creation is aware that the present state is not the finality of God’s power. It is no different for believers. The fulfillment of believers’ and creation’s redemption is yet to be fulfilled, but both hope for it with perseverance, believing and trusting that God is faithful in his word.
Paul explains in Romans 8:24-25 that “we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.” It is the mark of a true Christian.
