September Security Incident Report
The following is the Security incident report for the month of September. It has been edited for brevity and clarity.
FIRE: 3
• Sept. 10, 9:55 a.m.,Golden Rain Road and St. Andrews Drive
A resident’s vehicle caught fire. The fire department was at scene; no injuries.
•Sept. 16, 3:25 p.m., Mutual 6
A resident left beans burning on the stove. Security entered and found unit filled with smoke with the resident sleeping. No injuries or damage, smoke only.
•Sept. 26, 3 p.m., Mutual 5
A pan was left on stove top. There was no fire or damage to the unit.
COYOTE SIGHTINGS: 16
There were 16 coyote sightings reported during September.
MISDEMEANOR THEFT (less than $950 in value): 22

An unknown person removed a small pocketknife, glasses and a flip phone from a resident’s vehicle.
•Sept. 2, 5:53 p.m., Mutual 1
An unknown person removed an unlocked bicycle from carport.
•Sept. 3, 2:16 p.m., Mutual 2
An unknown person removed a bicycle from the carport.
•Sept. 4, 3:35 p.m., Car Wash
A resident washed and left a rug in the car wash area. Upon return, the rug was missing.

An unknown person removed coins and a pair of eyeglasses from a vehicle.

A resident stated an unknown person stole her night gown and some linen from the laundry room. Resident called later and stated she found the items.

An unknown person removed a package from a bicycle’s handlebar bag.

A resident stated an unknown person opened a plastic storage container located inside her unit and removed money. She called back two days later and stated they found the money.

An unknown person spray painted the exterior block wall.

A resident stated an unknown person entered his vehicle and went through the contents of the glove compartment; no items removed.

A resident’s vehicle window was shattered—nothing was removed.

Security heard a dog barking after receiving a complaint, the resident received a pet citation notice.

A resident’s dog bit a resident who was walking in the area and was transported to the hospital.

A resident’s dog escaped from the leash, barked at another dog and resident, no injuries.

Security advised a resident regarding rules about feeding wild animals.

A resident reported an aggressive dog without a leash. Security advised dog owner of the rules.

A barking dog was causing a disturbance. The owner was advised by security.

•Sept. 24, 12:53 p.m., Clubhouse 6 Parking Lot A vehicle struck a wall while entering the lot and caused minor damage.
•Sept. 26, 8:52 a.m., 13741 Thunderbird Drive A moving vehicle sideswiped a parked vehicle.
•Sept. 27, 2:09 p.m., Alderwood Avenue A moving vehicle struck a parked vehicle.

A resident complained of loud music. The music was coming from outside the LW community.

A resident complained of yelling, pounding on the wall, and illegal drug use in neighboring unit. Security did not hear a disturbance or smell an odor.

A resident complained of loud noises coming from neighboring unit. No noise detected.

Ongoing neighbor dispute, with one resident accusing the other of making noise and yelling ethnic slurs.

A resident complained of neighbor causing noise in the laundry room before the posted opening at 7 a.m.

A resident reported people walking in the attic; no one was found.

A resident stated a person walked past her windows numerous times. Security did not find a person in the area.

Resident stated an unauthorized person was using the laundry facilities.

• Sept. 8, 12:13 p.m., North Gate
Unauthorized pedestrian walked through North Gate. The person was found by GRF Security patrol. Police were called, and the person exited the community.

A vendor was conducting after-hours work. Security advised vendor of rules, and the work ceased.

A resident returned home and stated someone gave her a new stovetop and moved her trash without permission.

A resident was recording a conversation with a GRF staff member without permission.

A resident stated an unknown person entered her unit and opened her blinds.
