Blessing of the Animals featured in Sunday service

COMMUNITY CHURCH

This week, Community Church will worship outside with members’ beloved pets for the annual Blessing of the Animals service.

Anyone who has a pet that can be leashed or placed in a carrier is invited to attend. No prior church experience is required.

LW Community Church will present Broadway’s Lerner & Loewe on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 3:30 p.m. The show will feature the music and history of Broadway lyricist Alan Jay Lerner and composer Frederick Loewe, including songs from “My Fair Lady,” “Brigadoon,” “Camelot,” “Paint Your Wagon,” “Gigi,” and more.

The church also offers a study of the book “A Course in Miracles,” facilitated by Abby Stevens, every Tuesday at 1 p.m. This is a free discussion focused on the teachings of Dr. Kenneth Wapnick. The theme of the course and the book can be summed up as “nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.”

For more information about “A Course in Miracles,” visit www.acim.org.

People are welcome to join Community Church’s “Coffee with the Pastor” on Thursdays at 10 a.m. The next coffee is today at 10 a.m. at the church. This is a great low-key opportunity to meet Pastor Johan Dodge and members of the church before attending a service.

The people at Community Church are focused on the “kindom” building community, and living God’s love. Those who are experiencing hate or bitterness either toward themselves or others could benefit from this community.

This is a place where everyone is welcome, provided they are willing to be part of the community.

The church does not welcome hate, bigotry, sexism or homophobia.

Community Church meets for worship service every Sunday at 9:50 a.m. at 14000 Church Place near the St. Andrews Gate.
