Residents help keep Seal Beach clean
Jeri and Ted Nowel from Mutual 5 have joined Joe Lazzari, Seal Beach resident, and the team leader for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for years as a faithful 'Trash Crew' that clears Pacific Coast Highway. The trio, along with several additional volunteers, spend the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month gathering and bagging trash in the area of the Naval Weapons Base property and both sides of highway.
A new 'Adopt a Highway' sign was recently posted on the northside of the highway, close to the Anaheim Bay Bridge, to acknowledge the group’s efforts. The Nowells also contribute a large number of volunteer hours at the Naval Base's Native Plant Garden refuge.
