Jade On The Water, located in nearby Marina Pacifica Shopping Center (Pacific Coast Highway and Second Street intersection, northwest corner), advertises having exceptional Asian fusion cuisine. I sure agree. Each of my dining experiences at Jade On The Water has been an unparalleled dining experience resulting in this restaurant being my favorite close-by Asian food restaurant.
On Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., a 22-item buffet is $19.99. If you are a meat lover, a few selections I especially enjoy are honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef and baked fish of the day. Each bite always leaves me smiling from ear-to-ear.
If you are a vegetarian, this buffet also has dishes for you. Spicy green beans and the vegetable medley are two. Plus, a new taste for me when I started eating at Jade On The Water were sweet potato noodles. These noodles are served with edamame and sesame seed dressing. This dish is my favorite vegetarian selection.
Moving onto desserts, five flavors of yummy cake bites. Eeny, meeney, miny, moe, which flavor do I select? Why, of course, I always select all five flavors. Also, the macaron cookies practically melt in my mouth regardless of which flavor.
Another experience Monday-Friday 3-8 p.m. is the all-youcan- eat sushi experience for $40. Choose from sashimi, 10 types of sushi rolls, nine nigiri choices and nine hand rolls. Sashimi is a favorite of mine. Also available is regular menu cuisine featuring a wide selection of Asian fusion dishes offering a blend of Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine.
Customers are treated to live music nightly from 5-9. Jade On The Water also has fun evening activities. For example, Tuesday has live stand-up comedy and happy hour lasts until closing.
A 209-seat capacity includes waterfront, indoor tables, booths and bar, plus a special 80-seat outdoor covered party room. People can even bring their own roasted pig to the special party room and their own birthday cake. Jade On The Water celebrates its customers’ birthdays with fried ice cream.
Fabio Montijo, Jade On The Water’s executive chef for the past two years, brings vast experience to the restaurant. For the preceding 10 years, he served as the executive chef for the Tom Bradley International Terminal at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Parking is free. From the Marina Pacifica Mall parking lot, Jade On The Water’s main entry is on the south side about seven steps down.
