American Legion Auxiliary American Legion Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday, Sept. 15, in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, at 1 p.m. After a summer break (outside of making poppies weekly and Bingo) the Auxiliary is ready to get back to serving local veterans.

Working with the outstanding LW American Legion Post, the Auxiliary collected donations at the Amphitheater for Fisher House, Long Beach on Aug. 7. Fisher House provides temporary lodging and support to military members, veterans, and their families, when receiving treatment through a Southern California Navy or Veterans Affairs medical facility. The generous residents of Leisure World donated $2,650.

People are welcome to join the “Poppy Ladies” making poppies every Tuesday in Clubhouse 3, Room 7, from 9 a.m.-noon.

The American Legion has American flags to replace residents’ old, tattered flags. People can properly dispose of old flags at the drop off by the library.

The Auxiliary meets every third Monday at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. For more information, call Dianne Hart at 714-955-2885.

The Auxiliary "wants you!" to attend its monthly meetings.
