LW Pool League

The Leisure World Pool Club straight pool league got off to a fast start in July and never let up as mid-August approached. Two mainstays of the club, Ruffy Ramos and Dave Silva, remain undefeated and at the top of the standings. Also off to a good start with 4-1 records were Gary Snow, Phouc Tran, Steve Edrich and Patrick Conlon.

Key scores from week 5 of the 16-game schedule were: Bruce Pettys, 30; Patrick Conlon, 30; Connie Terry, 29; and Brian Burke, 27.

Activity will heat up over the next several weeks as the 3-6-9 9-Ball Tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, and the club’s annual picnic takes place on Saturday, Aug. 30. The winter league will commence on Monday, Sept. 8.
