LW Baptist will meet for worship on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 4. The message for the week explores the Bible’s teaching on eternal life.

The Christian hope of eternal life is not just that life goes on beyond this world. Rather, it is that life in the fullest sense goes on for each person, including body and soul or spirit. The Bible is clear that each person’s body is a permanent part of who they are, and so the body will be raised or restored after this life.

The Bible further explains that the body without the spirit is dead. But for believers to be absent from the body is to be immediately present with the Lord in glory. Christians await Christ’s return to earth for them as he promised, and at that time he will transform their lowly bodies so that they will become like his glorious body. They will enjoy fellowship in the presence of God for all eternity. This promise of eternal life is for those who put their personal faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
