Often, people wait until the beginning of the year as the time to make new resolutions. But the time is always right to make a resolution to start a Bible reading plan to strengthen faith in the Lord. Just as people need physical nourishment for their bodies, people also need spiritual nourishment.

Think about those plants brought home from the nursery, they are either in the process of growing or dying. The same is true of a person’s spiritual life. Both need to be nourished to grow. Don’t wait for a New Year’s resolution, the time is always right to decide to grow in relationship with Jesus. Joshua 1:8 says, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
