In Library Leads, library staff highlight exciting new additions to the LW Library collection.

“The Apollo Murders,” by Chris Hadfield

Set in 1973 during the Cold War, featuring a fictionalized Apollo 18 mission. The mission, initially presented as scientific, becomes a covert military operation to counter a Soviet space station spying on the U.S. Tensions escalate as the astronauts face danger on the moon and in space, with political stakes reaching a breaking point between the U.S. and USSR.

“I Regret Almost Everything,” by Kevin McNally

Genre: Nonfiction, Memoir

Detailing his life from his gritty London upbringing to his influential career in New York City’s restaurant scene, it explores his successes, like founding iconic establishments like Odeon, Balthazar, and Pastis, alongside his personal struggles, including a debilitating stroke and a suicide attempt. It’s a story of ambition, self-doubt, and ultimately, resilience, marked by McNally’s trademark wit and candor.
