GRF Safety Tip of the Week

When walking at night, pedestrians should always wear bright or reflective clothing in order to remain visible to drivers. Examples of reflective clothing include neon-colored apparel, reflective safety vests, and clothing with reflective strips or accessories. Dark attire significantly reduces visbility for drivers, increasing the risk of accidents and collisions.

People who do not own any reflective clothing can also walk with a flashlight, glow stick, or use their cellphone’s built-in flashlight to notify drivers of their presence. Pet owners are also urged to use reflective leashes or harnesses.
