LW Baptist Church
People often say, “I don’t understand the Bible.” The Bible calls this condition “having a veil over the eyes.” Jesus helped his followers remove the veil by telling them that the prophets were speaking of him.
The treasurer of Candace, queen of Ethiopia, was returning from Jerusalem in his chariot and reading aloud Isaiah’s prophecy. Overhearing him, Philip the evangelist asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” He replied, “How can I, unless someone guides me.” He then asked Philip, “Of whom does the prophet say these things, of himself or of someone else?”
Philip told him about Jesus. They came to some water and the official ordered the chariot to stop, saying, “I want to become a Christian.” Philip baptized him, and the Ethiopian went on his way rejoicing. The Bible explains this change with these words, “When people turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away from their eyes.”
LW Baptist will meet on Sunday, July 21, in Clubhouse 4 at 10 a.m. join to learn how to help others remove the veil and understand the gospel.
