Become an expert on Orange County transportation
BUS INFORMATION SESSION
Residents are invited to attend a bus information session on Monday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, that will cover a variety of transportation options including taxi services, hospital shuttles and public buses. People are encouraged to arrive early, as space is limited.
Freedom of movement plays a crucial role in maintaining independence and remaining connected to the world. Getting familiar with local transportation options makes it easier to get to medical appointments, pick up groceries, take advantage of support services and explore the surrounding area.
The session will cover topics such as:
• Leisure World’s internal on-call bus system.
• How to get to markets like Target, Ralphs and Sprouts.
• Transportation to the Seal Beach Senior Center.
• Seal Beach’s Dial-A-Ride taxi service—a city representative will be on site to help people sign up for the program.
• Low cost senior bus services in Orange County, such as Abrazar Inc.
• Roundtrip transportation to nearby hospitals, such as Kaiser Permanente medical offices in Sand Canyon and UCI Health, plus low-cost trips to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, the Long Beach VA and more.
Live closed captions will be available.
Some local hospitals provide free transportation for patients to get to and from medical appointments.
