Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore

Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore of Canterbury Episcopal Church extend gratitude to those who helped set up and attended the July 4 potluck. Eight tables were filled with members and friends, enjoying delicious food and the wonderful fellowship, along with the celebration of the nation’s 249th birthday.

On Sunday, July 20, the congregations will celebrate the sixth Sunday after Pentecost with the Rev. Murray D. Finck presiding. The Communion and worship service meets at 13564 St. Andrews Drive at 10:30 a.m.

Donna Michelson will be the prayer leader, and Carol Costello will be the Scripture reader during the service. All are welcome to join.

Fellowship will continue afterward in the Fellowship Hall with coffee, tea, cookies and snacks.

The congregations continue to collect donations of canned and boxed foods for the hungry. All are welcome to participate in this outreach. The donations stay in Orange County and are distributed by Lutheran Social Services.

The midweek Bible study meets on Wednesdays in the fellowship hall at noon. The current study is on women of the Bible. Some of the women the group is studying lived during the days of the Judges: Deborah, Jael and the mothers of Samson and Samuel.

These stories are threaded throughout the books of Joshua, Judges, and 1 Samuel. A study guide will be distributed. People are invited to bring a lunch. The church will provide drinks and sometimes a small dessert. All are welcome to attend the engaging discussion that Bishop Murray Finck leads. This is a great way to meet members and friends and to share an understanding of the faith and the Holy Scriptures.
