Shuf. eboard Club

With the summer season and no league play, the shuffleboard courts are less hectic but open play continues Mondays and Wednesdays. One couple who has been participating for 11 years is Bob and Patty Petterson. The Pettersons moved into Leisure World 13 years ago. At the time, Bob was playing beach volleyball but they wanted to find an activity they could participate in together, so they gave shuffleboard a try and fell in love with it.

When they first began playing, there was only one league, and they played three games. Now the club has three leagues and only play two games.

Both are members of more than one league. They commented it was all about the people and the relationships they have built over the years. They are both very active in the club. Bob served as captain on Tuesday evenings for the past three seasons. Patty took on the role of membership chairperson three years ago. She loves it because it gives her the opportunity to get to know more people. She also hosts open play once a month on Mondays.

Both are also involved in organizing and helping with many of the special events.

Bob also plays pickleball. They are very involved with their two children, six grandchildren, a dog and a new kitten. They frequently travel to Iowa to visit family. Bob and Patty are two very active people. They are a wonderful edition to the shuffleboard club.
