First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

Abraham believed and became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” In spite of his age of 100 years old he did not waver in his belief regarding the promise of God. He gave glory to God. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”

In Romans 4:23 the apostle Paul wrote, “Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was credited to him, but also to us.” The righteousness imputed to Abraham because of his faith wasn’t a one-time deal, and it wasn’t just for Jews, but for Gentiles as well. Yes, the righteousness of Abraham is credited to people still here some 3,000 years later as well. Paul goes on to say, “it shall be credited to us who believe in him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.”

It by God’s grace through faith for those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Jews and Gentiles of all ages can be assured of their righteousness by God’s grace through faith. Being justified in the sight of a righteous God is the by product of a resurrected glorified Jesus Christ, who sits at right hand of the majesty in heaven.
