LW Art League

The Leisure World Art League’s June 10 gathering featured Southern California artist Ruben Zavala, who has spent the last 10 years painting California landscapes from Laguna Beach to San Francisco. Zavala’s demonstration gave attendees an extraordinary opportunity to watch the live creation of a new painting, which was presented by Zavala to drawing winner Betty Lucero.

Winners of the art competition at the gathering were Barbara Simundza, masters category; Allyn Constant, intermediate; Alice Siosin, 3D/crafts; Carmen Leslie, best of show; and JoAnn Rossi, popular vote.

The Art League will meet July 8 at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. Members and their guests will be presented with highlights from the successful “Art in Bloom” fine art exhibition, and special recognition awards will be presented to members who bring culture and enjoyment to the community.
