Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District Public Information Officer Brian Brannon will speak to the Sunshine Club on Friday, June 13, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m.

He has worked at Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District for almost three years and enjoys helping keep OC residents safe from the diseases that vectors can spread in an environmentally safe manner.

Brannon has more than 30 years of experience in communications, including 23 years in the U.S. Navy, where he now serves as a master chief mass communication specialist in the Navy Reserve. He has worked for the Orange County Healthcare Agency and Social Services Agency, the California State University Chancellor’s Officer and various magazines, newspapers and websites.

As a master chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, he oversees more than 200 mass communication specialists worldwide and reports directly to the vice chief of information.

Master Chief Brannon has served on warships at sea in the Pacific, the Caribbean, the South China Sea, and the Spanish Main, as well as ashore in Malaysia, Indonesia, Nicaragua, Colombia, Spain, the Philippines, and Afghanistan.

All residents are welcome to join this meeting. People are asked to arrive promptly to the meeting. Those who arrive late should quietly use the back door so as not to disturb the presentation.
