South Coast Orchid Society

The South Coast Orchid Society will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Monday, June 23, from 7-9 p.m. at the Whaley Park Community Center, 5620 E. Atherton St. in Long Beach.

The club has welcomed amateurs and professionals alike since 1950. Master grower and orchid judge Doug Overstreet will give a presentation at the meeting. After all this time, orchids still fascinate, and they have gained a new importance in highlighting efforts to preserve natural habitats around the world. The event is free and open to the public.
