First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

In Romans 3:27-30, the Apostle Paul states that the God of the Jews and the God of the Gentiles is the same God, and his son did not die for just one or the other, but for both, for all of mankind. The offer of this free salvation goes out to all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. In verse 27, Paul asks the question “Where then is boasting? It is excluded!”

There is no room for boasting if one has nothing to do with his own salvation outside of his faith in Jesus Christ. If salvation was attained in some manner by the principle of works and or some religious acts then a person, Jew or Gentile would have room to go about boasting, but salvation is by faith and faith alone.

Paul wrote in Romans 3:28, “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.” True faith sets aside any possibility of one’s ability to somehow improve his standing before a righteous God with works. The true person of faith looks only to Christ Jesus as his savior; to God be the glory.
