Get help planning for the future at Life Options Expo
LIFE OPTIONS EXPO
All are invited to the eighth annual LWSB Life Options Expo on Friday, June 27, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Clubhouse 4 and Veterans Plaza. This popular annual event brings together nonprofits, service providers and local vendors to showcase a wide range of resources that can help enhance residents’ quality of life.
One gift that people can give to their children and families is making sure their end-of-life plans are organized and clearly communicated. Advanced planning involves making thoughtful decisions about future healthcare and personal wishes before a crisis occurs. By putting these plans in place ahead of time, people not only ensure that their wishes are respected, but also relieve their loved ones of the burden of making difficult decisions during emotional moments.
Hospice is a type of compassionate care designed for individuals facing a life-limiting illness, typically when curative treatment is no longer effective or desired. Rather than focusing on curing the illness, hospice prioritizes comfort and quality of life. It includes pain management, emotional and spiritual support, and help with everyday tasks often provided at home or in a nursing home.
Early planning gives people time to understand what hospice offers, choose a provider and ensure that their care preferences are clearly communicated. This proactive approach can lead to a more peaceful, dignified and meaningful end-of-life experience.
