Redeemer Lutheran and St. Theodore

On Sunday, June 1, the congregations of Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. Theodore of Canterbury Episcopal Church will celebrate the seventh Sunday of Easter with Rev. Murray D. Finck presiding. The Communion and worship service gathers at 13564 St. Andrews Drive at 10:30 a.m. Nancy Anderson will be the lesson reader and Rhoda Finck will be the prayer leader. Fellowship will continue afterwards in the Fellowship Hall with coffee, tea, cookies and snacks. The church continues to collect donations of canned and boxed foods.

The Bible study meets on Wednesdays at noon in the Fellowship Hall. It is studying the Sermon on the Mount, recorded in the Gospel of Matthew 5-7 and cross-referencing Luke’s writings.

The Gospel lesson is from John 17:20-26, the final moments in before Jesus’ betrayal and arrest. Jesus prays for unity among his followers. The unity sought for all his believers is modeled on the relationship between the Father and the son: the son is one with the Father, just as followers of Jesus should be united in faith and action.
