LW Baptist Church

Communion Sunday at LW Baptist Church will be on June 1 at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 4.

As Paul closes his letter to the Christian believers in the churches of Southern Greece, he reminds them of their deficiency of love and of how indispensable it is to their new life of faith.

In the Bible, the power of love results from faith in the risen Christ. Such faith keeps its eyes open, always courageous, not intimidated as children might be, and overcoming evil with good. Jesus referred to this victorious alertness when he said to his followers, “Stay awake and pray; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Genuine faith in God conducts all of life’s affairs in an atmosphere of committed love.

If ever it is absent in believers’ behavior, they must remedy the absence before they can proceed with effective service for God and man. Their love cannot be mere words and talk, but must be in deliberate action and truth.
