Community Church
As Community Church moves through its study of the book of Acts, the congregation will move from the conversion to Paul to the conversion of Peter in Acts 16:9-15, what is described as the conversion of Lydia, but could also be called the further conversion of Paul.
The church will continue to look at the ways people hinder God, this time with a look at misogyny in the Scriptures and in society today. Misogyny is hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women that seeks to keep women at a lower status than men, thus maintaining the patriarchy. The Gospel of Jesus has no place in patriarchy, and patriarchy has no place for the transformative teachings of divine love.
Community Church cares about divine love. It is a place where everyone is welcome, provided they are willing to be part of the community. It does not welcome hate, bigotry, sexism, or homophobia. All are welcome who are welcoming to all.
Residents are invited to come to “Coffee with the Pastor” on Thursdays at 10 a.m. This is an informal opportunity for those who want to meet Pastor Johan Dodge.
Community Church holds worship services on Sunday mornings at 9:50 at 14000 Church Place near St. Andrews Gate. All are welcome.
