Learn the language of flowers
GARDEN CLUB
The Garden Club will meet on Monday, May 19, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. Elizabeth Butterfield will be the featured speaker, sharing her knowledge of “The Language of Flowers” and the hidden messages imparted by the meaning of flowers.
One of the club’s favorite speakers, Butterfield can always be counted on to present an informative and entertaining program. She is not only an amazing gardener, but also a multi-talented artist. Butterfield’s unique style of art and floral design reflects her passion for using a multitude of textures and components. She also enjoys instructing students, from which she gains inspiration for creating her art.
The WE CARE table will be set up in the lobby for donations of non-perishable food items, gift cards and cash. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served after the meeting. All are welcome to attend.
The Summer Fiesta Luncheon will be held Monday, June 16, at 11:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 2. Tickets will be on sale for $30 per person in the lobby before and after the meeting. Club membership is not required to attend. The luncheon will feature a “Build Your Own Burrito Bar,” Fiesta salad, peach cobbler and a variety of drinks. There will be musical entertainment, door prizes and an opportunity drawing for many beautiful gift baskets. Diners are encouraged to wear their favorite south-of-the-border-style finery such as serapes, sombreros, turquoise and silver jewelry. Those who can not attend the meeting can call Nancy Goldstein at 562-896-8604 to purchase tickets.
