GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION

The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) sponsored an orange safety flag installation for over 100 bikes, golf carts and mobility aids for residents on April 28.

Recognizing the important role the safety flag plays in preventing serious accidents, the GAF purchased the pennants for the community and installed them with volunteer members of the Rollin’ Thunder Golf Cart Club. The collaboration worked well. The two clubs worked together with efficiency to serve the community.

There was a resident who brought a tricycle to the event but also had some issues with the tricycle itself, and was helped by Rollin’ Thunder Golf Cart Club members and twin brothers, Pat and Michael Reaume. The brothers took their time to fix all the problems she had. Another resident brought a new golf cart

Golden Age Foundation volunteers teamed up with The Rollin' Thunder Golf Cart Club to install orange safety flags on residents' golf carts, mobility aids and bikes. to the event to receive an orange flag, but was also having issues with the golf cart’s speed. The Reaume brothers realized her golf cart has a capped speed at 25 miles per hour, and pumped air into her four tires, free of charge.

Those brightly colored pennants flying in the breeze from the tops and backs of many golf carts and mobility devices serve as an extra measure of safety. The flags can be installed on golf carts, scooter drivers, bikes, tricycles and motorized wheelchairs.
