Club celebrates 20 years in LW
COMMUNITY KARAOKE
The Community Karaoke Club’s April 30 celebration of the club’s 20th anniversary was a huge success. Fifty happy folks took the microphone to entertain the audience. People tapped their feet to lots of boot-scootin’ melodies to enhance the theme of the night: country western. Hoagies, chicken wings and ice cream drumsticks were gobbled up as the music continued. Many folks went home with a raffle gift.
Pat Kogok and Tino Tupas were introduced as original members of the club, and they are still in fine voice. Several GRF Board members, led by the jubilant Edward Jablonski, conducted the song “Downtown,” which the entire room joyously sang together. Joe Osuna video taped many of the performers during the evening.
Karaoke is held every Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 1. People can sing with a small group practicing songs and gaining confidence singing karaoke on Mondays from 1-3 p.m. in Clubhouse 6.
