Democratic Club

The Democratic Club will meet Wednesday, April 23, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. LW Democrats and supporters can arrive as early as 12:30 to socialize with other like-minded residents. Members can also join the meeting by Zoom, email lwsbdemocraticclub@ gmail.com for information.
LA Times columnist Gustavo Arellano will be the keynote speaker. Arellano is the child of two Mexican immigrants. He previously worked at the OC Weekly, where he was an investigative reporter for 15 years and editor for six.
On April 5, hundreds of thousands of Americans across the country stood up and spoke out for voting rights, fundamental freedoms, and essential services like Social Security and Medicare. In Leisure World, an estimated 500 peaceful but enthusiastic residents lined the sidewalk outside the globe with creative homemade signs and chants of “Hands Off ” and “Save our Constitution.”
The club will host an informal get-together “Lunch Bunch” at the Hof ’s Hut Restaurant & Bakery at 11:30 a.m. on May 7. New members are encouraged to attend the monthly gatherings. No reservations are required. For more information, email debbiewrathall@mac.com.

LW Democrats and supporters can stop by the club’s hospitality and voter information booth, located in the parking lot outside Clubhouse 6 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month. Volunteers will be available to answer questions about the club as well as receive suggestions for future activities.
