On Sunday, April 27, at 3:30 p.m., Leisure World Community Church invites residents to its “Peace, Love, Music” festival. It’s time to break out the tie-dye, love beads, and granny glasses. Join church members for a groovy afternoon of ‘60s music featuring Legends of Rock and Songbirdz. Help spread peace and love throughout Leisure World. Free flower power stickers will be given to the first 100 guests. Hippie threads and dancing shoes are optional. Call 562-431-2503 for information.
As the church looks at the procession on Palm Sunday, there are two competing stories about who is in charge. Community Church will look at these two stories of authority and look at their implications for believers today.
Residents are invited to come to “Coffee with the Pastor” on Thursdays at 10 a.m. This is a great opportunity for those who would like a low-key opportunity to meet Pastor Johan Dodge and some of the members of the church.
Those who could benefit from having more community are invited to attend Sunday service. Coffee is served in the Narthex before worship. All are welcome to attend. Community Church holds worship services on Sunday mornings at 9:50 at 14000 Church Place near St. Andrews Gate.
