Pool club spring leagues wrap
On the final night of the Monday spring pool league, The Snipers clinched the title, even though they lost a close match to The Renegades, by a 7-6 score. The Snipers finished with 76 wins and 54 losses, two games ahead of Dead Eye. Dead Eye finished strong, beating I Don’t Care 9-4. Ray Friedrichsen of Dead Eye scored six out of seven points and won both of his singles matches.
The Cue Crew beat Anywhere But There 8-5, and I Don’t Care managed to hold on to third place.
Final singles match totals for the Monday league were: A players: Ren Villenueva, 11 wins and seven losses; B players: Phuon Tran, 14 wins and four losses; C players: Jennifer Spindler, 13 wins and seven losses. Each of these players will qualify for an all-star match against the Wednesday night players with the best singles records.
For Wednesday night league, The Sharks held a one game lead over The Favorites going into the final night of play. The Sharks responded to the challenge by beating the Burners 9-4. This gave The Sharks a season record of 76 wins and 54 losses, the exact same record as Monday league’s The Snipers. Rusty Aquino of The Sharks had a perfect seven wins.
The Favorites beat 3 Layers Deep 9-4, but missed a chance to tie The Sharks in the final eight ball game, where they lost and The Sharks won their last game of the night.
Light It Up beat RDM Trio 8-5, with Brian Tivnan of Light It Up scoring six points.
The Snipers will meet The Sharks for the championship in a race to seven points.
