Schedules and team assignments for the spring league of the Shuffleboard Club have been posted at the courts building. Captains have been identified for the 13 teams set to play. The information can also be found on the internet app TeamReach. League players should be at the courts per the following schedule: Tuesday evening, April 1, by 5:30; Thursday afternoon, April 3, by 1; and Friday morning, April 4, by 9.

A curious aspect of shuffleboard leagues is that many of the club members play in two or more leagues. Veteran players Sal LaScala, John Mount and Ellie West have signed up for all three leagues. All three exemplify the old saying, “practice makes perfect.” On the other hand, about half of the league players regularly compete in just one league. Camaraderie, a bit of exercise, plus the feeling of improving with a game of many complex challenges all motivate club members.

March 14 Friday morning results: Team Carol edged out Team Patti by winning 7-5. Allgame winners for Team Carol included Milly Larsen and Rod Leebrick. All-game winners for Team Patti included Rod Osgood and Roger Bennett. Team Shel won 8-4 against Team Sally. Diana Smith and Micki Aiello earned all-game winner status while new player and substitute for Team Sally, Lynne Haines, earned the all-game winner honor.

March 19 Tuesday evening results: In the final contest for the winter season, Team Bob won 8-4 against Team Karen. The all-game winners for Team Bob were Roger Bennett, Bob Peterson, and Diane Viau. Team Sue outlasted Team Sally by winning 7-5. All-game winners for Team Sue were Sal LaScala and substitute Linda Evanson.

The Shuffleboard Club's St. Patrick's celebration has become quite a tradition as Jack O'Brien hosted the party, with the help of Mary Lund and Sally Fowler. O'Brien provided corned beef for all attendees. Several members commented that the club has among the best potlucks of any Leisure World club.
