LW Gong Club
The Gong Club will host live comedy on Friday, March 28, in Clubhouse 2 at 7 p.m. Friends, neighbors and guests are invited to participate during the open mic night.
Volunteers may perform a three-minute humorous skit with friends or recite a series of one-liners and jokes (nothing featuring political, racial or uncomfortable language). Inspiration by means of example can be found by joining the club’s Facebook group page, search for “Leisure World Seal Beach – An Entertainment Platform Hosted by Lu DeSantis.” People must answer three security questions to join the group.
Ten acts are needed. To preregister, leave a voice or text message at 310-686-4763. The club is grateful for donations which are used to help support the Clubhouse 2 Crimson Lounge concert miniseries held during alternating months. Those who know a talented group of musical enthusiasts who are interested in sharing stage time with the Gong Club, should contact the club to set up an audition. The club is looking for intimate three-piece, duets or special talent soloists to fill 30-minute time slots at its happy hour shows.
