LW Baptist

Paul speaks of love’s permanence in his letter to the believers at Corinth, which is the theme of LW Baptist’s message this Sunday, March 16, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 4.

“I have loved you with everlasting love,” the Lord says elsewhere in Scripture. “Therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you.”

After identifying several serious threats to love in writing to the Christians in Rome, the apostle concludes, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The apostle John dedicates the last book of the Bible, “To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.” In a world in which everything else is transitory, the Bible assures those who have come to know God’s love for them that “God’s loving-kindness is better than life,” because it goes beyond this life, is perfected in God’s presence, and is the joyful exercise of God and his people together for all eternity.
