First Christian Church
First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.
Pastor’s Message
The apostle Paul is the author of 13 New Testament letters. All the letters are critical to the authenticity of the Christian faith. Many consider his greatest theological work to be the letter he wrote to the church in Rome.
Writing from Corinth in AD 56, while on his third missionary journey, Paul wrote to a Roman church that he had not yet visited but felt compelled to connect with. His letter to them was not to correct any wayward doctrinal issues, but to present to them the great truths and doctrines of the Christian faith revealed to him by none other than Jesus Christ.
He covers many topics confronting the new Christians, including the depravity of man to the message of righteousness by faith.
Paul starts his letter with this greeting: “Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which he promised before through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning his son Jesus Christ, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name’s sake, among whom you are also called of Jesus Christ,” Romans 1:1-6.
The church will begin its study through the book of Romans, a theological masterpiece written around A.D. 56-57, this week on Sunday, March 16. Discover its relevance in the life of believers today.
