The Salvation Army trucks will be stationed at the LW Amphitheater to accept residents’ generous donations of clothing, furniture and various household items. Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to free themselves from unwanted possessions and clutter and in turn support The Salvation Army’s work in the community. Donations will be accepted between 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on March 15 in the Amphitheater parking lot.

Donations will be collected, sorted and distributed to The Salvation Army Thrift stores and the proceeds of those sales directly support the Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) providing no-cost, housing, employment, and counselling services for those seeking recovery from drug and alcohol dependency and abuse. The Salvation Army also provides vouchers to the victims of the recent fire disasters that can be redeemed at their Thrift Stores to help begin to re-build their lives.

Appropriate donations include clothing, small to medium furniture items, kitchen ware, home decor, books, games, toys and sporting goods, small appliances, bicycles, bedding, pillows etc.

The Salvation Army cannot accept large bulky furniture pieces, mattresses and used medical equipment. It cannot come to a resident’s unit to pick up any donation, people must bring it to the truck.

Donation bags can be found at all Clubhouses, the library and the newspaper office. February’s event filled two and a half trucks to capacity.
