Learn how solar energy offers substantial savings March 6

SENIORS FOR PEACE

Seniors For Peace will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, in Clubhouse 4 for an informative program titled “Solar Energy Systems – Cut Electricity Costs.” Mutual 6 President Pennie Alberts will talk about the huge cost savings solar energy provides to her Mutual. Mutual 12 resident Linda Fenton will discuss her experience with the solar energy system she and her husband had installed in their unit, and Ameco-Sun & Roofing representative Hunter Bretting will discuss solar energy systems in general, the costs involved and the potential savings.

Wildfire costs are driving up utility rates in California, making electricity prices here among the highest in the country. Utility companies often increase customer rates to recover past and future wildfire costs. Transmission and distribution investments also contribute to rising electricity rates. Rooftop solar and battery storage offer a way to reduce reliance on the grid and protect against rate increases. As California customers face ongoing rate hikes, investing in solar installation can be a smart move to lock in lower electricity costs and gain energy independence.

All LW residents and guests are invited to attend. For more information, call Pat Kruger at 562-357-4040.
