Club will donate to Precious Lamb
WOMAN'S CLUB OF LW
The Woman’s Club of Leisure World will meet on Tuesday, March 4, in Clubhouse 2. The doors will open at 1 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 1:30.
It is nearing time for election of officers for the 2025-2026 term. The first step is to elect a nominating committee of six members of the Woman’s Club. The club will ask for volunteers to serve on the committee at the March 4 meeting. Committee members will be responsible for finding candidates interested in running for the elected board positions.
The philanthropic organization the club will make a donation to this month is Precious Lamb, a nonprofit organization that serves Long Beach area at-risk children. Its focus is on breaking the cycle of homelessness, one child at a time. It provides a full day, quality education to children 18 months to 5 years experiencing homelessness at no cost to the parents.
In addition to the check the Woman’s Club will present at the meeting, members may make an individual monetary donation (cash or check made out to Precious Lamb Preschool). Additional items that would be helpful include: construction paper (white and colored, all sizes), Elmer’s Glue Sticks (Disappearing Purple), dry erase markers, stickers for arts and crafts, rice and cornstarch for sensory activities, watercolor paper, Ziplock bags, food coloring, pens, large stamp pads (for handprints), Pullups in sizes 4T and 5T for boys and girls, underwear in sizes 3T and 4T, girls, underwear in sizes 4T and 5T, boys, Clorox wipes and Lysol, spray bottles, and baby wipes (fragrance free/sensitive skin).
The entertainment will be Harrison Michael, a multifaceted performer, singer, song writer and composer. The Woman’s Club offers members entertainment, refreshments and a way to support the community. For more information, contact Membership Chair Kathy Russell at 949-293-7517.
