Presidents’ Council Meeting Recap
THEPRESIDENTS’COUNCIL Clubhouse 4 and Zoom Tele-Video Conference The regular monthly meeting of the Presidents’ Council of Leisure World Seal Beach was convened at 1:30 p.m. by President Rich Carson on Feb. 5 at 1661 ‘C’ Golden Rain Road, Building 5, Conference Room B and via Zoom tele-video conference.
The following is a recap:
• Presidents’ Council meeting minutes of Dec. 4, 2024 were approved as written.
• GRF President Janet Isom informed the Council members that Nick Massetti was elected as the new GRF Treasurer and will be the council chair for the Finance Committee. She also discussed GRF Elections.
• Emergency Information Council (EIC) President Jackie Dunagan introduced the council and discussed free scanning service and the CPR/Fire-Aid classes offered through EIC. She also discussed the Emergency Information/ Preparedness 2025 Calendar.
• Senior Director of Facilities Mark Weaver spoke of the staffing shortage in Physical Properties and that the building inspectors will be reaching out to directors for permit signatures. Weaver also discussed the turf removal rebate and the multi-family energy saving programs, and invited the directors to reach out for more information. Weaver also asked the directors to encourage the residents to give permissions to enter the units for fire/safety inspections.
• Physical Property Manager Kevin Black provided an update on the completion of Clubhouse 4 roofing and awaiting the final inspection. He added that HVAC units will be looked at next, Clubhouse 3 roofing will start soon, painting of GRF buildings will be completed and more information will be provided on bathroom remodels.
• Senior Portfolio Specialist Ripa Barua submitted the Stock Transfer report on behalf of the Senior Director of Mutual Administration and provided an update on the Mutual Elections dates and application submissions.
• Executive Director Jessica Sedgwick said that Physical Property forms will be converted to PDF format by mid-February, so building inspectors can begin using them in early March. Sedgwick also informed the directors about the new Stock Transfer Manager Claudia Garcia. She added that GRF is working on a townhall meeting to get companies like SCE and others to provide residents with more information, and that the GRF budget narrative is available in CINC resident portal.
• ExecutiveManagerofMember Services Dave Potter provided • an update on the Corporate Transparency Act and answered questions about CINC Masterfile report. He also talked about changes in Stock Transfer and said that the new manager will attend the April Presidents’ Council meeting.
• The next meeting is on Wednesday, March 5, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. It will be streamed via Zoom tele-video conference and YouTube Live.
