SUNSHINE CLUB

No-cost services and community engagement opportunities are the themes for the Sunshine Club’s meeting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, with speakers Christine Tran-Le and Teresa Hyun-Sook Hong.

The meeting will feature free Council on Aging, Southern California services available to seniors in Orange County, including health programs, educational resources, and community engagement opportunities, as well as activities and support services specifically designed for Korean older adults. The session will cover key services, including those offered by the ReConnect Early Intervention Program, Friendly Visitors, and Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives (PEARLS OC), and explore how these services can help seniors live fuller, more connected lives.

Hong will share insights on the activities she has been providing to the Korean older adult community, showcasing culturally tailored services.

Hong is a community health educator for the ReConnect Early Intervention Program at The Council on Aging, Southern California.

Tran-Le is the volunteer and outreach supervisor for the Behavioral Health and Wellness Department at The Council on Aging, Southern California.

All shareholders are welcome. Sunshine Club requires no membership fees, and refreshments will be served. Donations are welcome.

People who arrive late are asked to quietly use the back door so as not to disturb the presentation.

Sunshine Club is now in its 14th year, with the mission of “building Bridges for a brighter Leisure World” to help all different ethnic people get along in the community, and for sharing information with neighbors to have better communication and to get the best out of living in Leisure World.
