Every registered voter in Leisure World should have received a vote-by-mail ballot by now.

The America First Republican recommends a vote for Tony Strickland for California Senate in this special election. Voters are encouraged to take their completed ballots to the club booth at Clubhouse 6. Ballots can also be mailed or dropped in the official ballot drop box near the amphitheater.

Those who have not received a ballot, or misplaced it and need a replacement, can stop by the club booth outside Clubhouse 6 for help from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Feb. 17, 19, 21, 24 and election day, Tuesday, Feb. 25.

The club recently had a volunteer appreciation luncheon at Hoff’s Hut, honoring volunteers for all their work to ensure victories in 2024 and to support the mission. Candidate Strickland attended. As a member of the Huntington Beach City Council, he authored the ballot measure to require voter ID for city elections. Strickland discussed his support for and the endorsement of police, sheriff, and firefighters and how Huntington Beach recently was proclaimed to be a nonsanctuary city.

He also talked about leading Huntington Beach as mayor in fighting back against Gavin Newsom’s mandates to turn quaint cities into cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco. All attendees had a great time and learned why they should vote for Strickland.

This month’s meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The meeting will have a potluck social from 5-5:30 p.m. with the club’s regular business meeting from 5:30-7 p.m. The guest speaker will be CA Senate candidate Tony Strickland’s spokesperson, who will give an update on the campaign.

The America First Republican Club’s mission is to educate, engage and to activate members in their duty as citizens and voters. Concerns include national, state, county, city and Leisure World governance related issues. Members believe that integrity, transparency, and fiscal responsibility are all hallmarks of good government.
