GRF TRANSPORTATION

Beginning Feb. 10, the GRF on-call buses will operate Monday-Friday, from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

The new start time, which is 30 minutes earlier, was implemented in part to better accomodate early morning medical appointments at the Optum Health Care Center.

Weekend operations will remain the same, with on-call rides available on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

When they are ready to be picked up, riders should call 562-472-1367 and provide the dispatcher with their name and location.

The location does not have to be at a bus shelter, but riders should make sure that the bus driver will be able to see them from the street. It can also be helpful to provide cross streets or nearby landmarks when giving the location.

After calling for a ride, people should immediately go to the described location and wait for the shuttle bus.

Most of the time the shuttle will arrive in 5-10 minutes, although high passenger demand can extend the wait time to 15-18 minutes. Anyone who experiences a wait time of more than 20 minutes should call back to dispatch and verify that their pickup location was correctly received.

People can also get a ride by waving down a bus from the sidewalk.

Need a ride? Call 562-472-1367.
