New entertainment club seeks acts for upcoming show
LW GONG CLUB
Anew entertainment group called the LW Gong Club will perform at Clubhouse 2 on Friday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. The show admission is free, but donations are appreciated. The club is scheduled to perform on the last Friday of every month at the same place and time.
Founder and club president Lu DeSantis will be the show’s host and will lead the audience through a path of madness filled with excitement, laughter, dance and a few surprises. Judges will score the contestant’s acts and a prize will be awarded to the winner. Now is the time to enter and register for a 3-minute act. The club is currently looking for new and vibrant personalities to join.
Acts must include one LW resident, and the maximum performance time 3 minutes, with the goal of bringing laughter to the audience. Acts cannot contain political, religious, or foul language content so as not to offend anyone.
The club will accept intentional eye-rolling “bad” acts just for the laugh and audience chants to “get him off” (meant to get gonged).
Currently included in the lineup are characters performing classic acts like The Unknown Comic, a Gene Jean Dancing Team, the infamous “Clap,” the Roaming Reporters, the Eye Spy and a new Gong Club Kazoo Band. The intent is to engage everyone in the house to join the madness. Call Lu DeSantis to sign up an act before Wednesday, Jan. 22.
