Congregation Sholom
Congregation Sholom will hold services via Zoom with Rabbi Mike Mymon on Friday, Jan. 17, at 6:30 p.m. Mymon will also lead the hybrid service on Services on Saturday, Jan. 18, in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, and on Zoom at 10 a.m.
Saturday’s Torah reading will be Shemot from Exodus. Shemot (Names) is the first Torah reading in the Book of Exodus. It opens describing the enslavement of the Israelites in Egypt. Moses is born, placed in a basket on the Nile, and adopted into Pharaoh’s household. He later encounters God at a burning bush and begins his mission of demanding that Pharoah let the Israelites go.
To receive a Zoom invitation, contact Jeff Sacks at 714-642-0122. Congregation Sholom’s After-Hanukkah Indoor Yard & Bake Sale will be held on Jan. 23 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1 p.m.
Congregation Sholom can only accept items in good and working condition. Bake sale items can be homemade or store bought. Clothes in good condition are welcome.
Local pickup is available, people are asked to arrive at noon to drop off donations on Jan. 23 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
Congregation Sholom actors and actress are invited to audition for its new Purim Spiel titled “A Non Political Purim Spiel” on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 8. Rehearsals will be every Tuesday night starting at 7 until Purim in Clubhouse 3, Room 8.
Those who want to help behind the scenes are asked to attend the auditions on Jan. 28. Congregation needs props helpers, costumes helpers, and stage crew members. Purim this year is Thursday, March 13.
